Cappfinity Answers: What Is Real and What Candidates Report

Search for a Cappfinity assessment and you will soon find offers of "Cappfinity answers", "answer PDFs" and "real test questions". This guide explains why a genuine answer key does not exist, why using one is risky, and what candidates who have taken Cappfinity assessments actually report on public forums.
The short answer
There is no genuine Cappfinity answer key you can use. The behavioural part has no published key at all, the reasoning questions vary, and employers such as Deloitte say that using answers from websites breaks their integrity rules. What candidates share is useful for knowing what to expect, not for knowing what to answer.
Why there is no real answer key
The behavioural part has no right answers to copy
Most Cappfinity assessments include a situational strengths test, where you rank actions from the one you would most likely take to the least likely. Cappfinity publishes no answer key and advises answering honestly. Its public G-Cloud listing says employers get pass, consider and fail data, but how your rankings turn into those bands is not public. Anyone selling "the right order" is guessing.
Employers also set scenarios in their own workplace. Deloitte, for example, has said the scenarios in its practice version are not specific to Deloitte, which suggests the real ones are, so a list from one employer would not match another.
The reasoning questions vary
Cappfinity's numerical, verbal and critical reasoning tests are built from scenarios and exhibits, and employers choose which tests to use. Cappfinity does not publish its question bank, and no official source says every candidate gets the same questions. A list of answers from someone else's test is unlikely to match yours.
Your speed counts, too
In most Cappfinity reasoning tests the score combines accuracy with the time you take. Looking things up while the clock is running costs you, even if the answer is right.
Why using "answers" is risky
- Deloitte bans it. Deloitte's integrity guidance says using answers from websites breaches its guidelines. It also bans AI tools during its online assessments and job simulation, says it has measures to detect AI-assisted responses, and lists removal from the process among the penalties.
- Deloitte warns about prep sites. It says fee-charging preparation sites are not endorsed and often give misleading or false information. That applies to every outside site, including this one, so treat outside material as practice for the formats only.
- The FCA requires your own work. It says responses must not be provided or generated by an AI assistant.
- Cappfinity's own terms restrict AI. Using Cappfinity's Preparation Hub requires accepting its user agreement, which forbids the use of AI tools.
What candidates report
Reddit could not be accessed when we researched this article, so the reports below come from public threads on The Student Room. They are individual experiences, paraphrased without usernames, and processes change every year.
Deloitte
- What the online assessment includes. Candidates applying in 2025 described it as a behavioural module plus numerical and verbal reasoning tests, with no video. Video questions came only in the job simulation, which one candidate said had about four or five video tasks.
- Numerical questions linked several sources. A candidate around 2023 found the numerical questions hard because you had to connect data across several sources. Another said the skill was working out how the sources fit together.
- The report arrived quickly, the outcome did not. Several candidates received the strengths report about two days after the online assessment. Some heard their outcome within two days; others were told to wait up to three weeks. Deloitte's official line is within four weeks.
- Reasoning bands. Candidates described reports showing numerical and verbal reasoning as low, moderate or proficient. They guessed that results are compared with a benchmark, but that is speculation.
See our guides to the Deloitte online assessment and the Deloitte Job Simulation.
HSBC
- An older immersive assessment. A candidate around 2018 described numerical and judgement items, 26 in total, with seven days to complete. The judgement items asked them to rank responses in order of effectiveness. One heard back after about five days.
- A work experience Simulate stage. A candidate around 2023 described three video questions with two minutes to answer each, on topics such as why finance and why HSBC.
HSBC's current process is set out in our HSBC job simulation guide.
The FCA
- Automatic reports from Cappfinity. Candidates for the 2022 graduate scheme described an emailed report listing three top strengths and one lowest. Some were unsure whether it affected selection. The FCA's process is in our FCA, M&G, Aviva and TfL guide.
General patterns
- Answer honestly. In an older thread about a firm candidates said used "Capp tests", the advice was to answer the strengths questions honestly, which matches Cappfinity's own advice.
- Allow more time than suggested. In the same thread, the suggested time was about 40 minutes and one candidate took about two hours.
- The report is not the decision. Candidates in the FCA and Deloitte threads asked what a "lowest strength" or a "moderate" band means for their application. Employers such as Deloitte say the report is not the outcome. See Cappfinity results and the feedback report.
What to use instead of answers
- Your employer's preparation hub and invitation. They tell you the modules and rules.
- Cappfinity's free demo. It has example numerical, verbal and critical reasoning questions with no sign-up, showing the real formats.
- Format practice. Practise reading busy tables, the three numerical answer formats and the ranking task, so the interface does not slow you down.
- Real examples for video questions. Prepare honest stories about what you do well and enjoy. Our strengths-based interview questions guide has 30 to prepare.
Candidate Falcon's Cappfinity practice has independent simulations of seven Cappfinity parts, with original questions and worked solutions. They are not Cappfinity's tests, they contain no real questions or answers, and practice results are not Cappfinity scores. Playing them needs one of our plans; see pricing. The free Cappfinity assessment guide explains every part.
FAQs
Is there a Cappfinity answers PDF?
Not a genuine one. Cappfinity publishes no answer key, the behavioural part has no right order to copy, and reasoning questions vary. Deloitte says using answers from websites breaches its integrity guidelines.
What do candidates say about Cappfinity on Reddit?
We could not access Reddit for this article. Candidate reports on The Student Room describe Deloitte's online assessment as behavioural plus numerical and verbal tests, video only in the job simulation, and strengths reports arriving within days.
Can employers tell if I use AI or outside help?
Deloitte says it has measures to detect AI-generated or AI-assisted responses, and lists removal from the process among the penalties. The FCA requires responses to be your own work.
How many questions are in a Cappfinity assessment?
Cappfinity does not publish counts, and they vary by employer. Prep sites report about 12 to 15 numerical questions, and one older HSBC candidate reported 26 items in total.
