Camera and microphone troubleshooting

When you see the message:

it simply means your browser is currently blocking access to your camera and/or microphone. Let's fix it step by step.
Step 1
Look for a small popup
When you first open the interview, your browser usually asks for permission.
- If you see it, click Allow. You should now be all set up.
- If you don’t see it, check the next steps below.
Step 2
Refresh the page
If you don’t see the popup, refresh the page and try again.
- Click the reload button in your browser (or press F5 on some keyboards).
- Wait for the page to reload fully.
- Try starting the interview again.
- If you see the popup, click Allow. You should now be all set up.
- If you still don’t see it, check the next steps below.
Step 3
Enable access manually if no popup appears
If you do not see a popup, you can usually turn camera and microphone access on manually.
- On Chrome or Edge, click the gear icon next to the website URL.
- Set Camera to Allow.
- Set Microphone to Allow.
- Refresh the page afterward.
- On Safari, open Safari in the top menu.
- Choose Settings for This Website.
- Set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
- Refresh the page afterward.

Step 4
Check your device just in case
If access is allowed but things still are not working, the issue may be on the device side rather than the browser side.
- Make sure your camera and microphone are connected and recognized by your computer.
- Close apps that may already be using them, like Zoom, Teams, Meet, or other recording software.
- If you use an external webcam or headset, unplug and reconnect it.
